GRANITE BENCHTOPS

Granite, Travertine And Limestone Benchtops

Granite is the everyday worktop of the villa: hard, heat-resistant and low-maintenance, in the tones that go with almost any kitchen scheme. At George Villa we cut-to-size granite, travertine and limestone benchtops in our Foshan base, 20–30 mm to the application, with polished, honed, leathered or eased edges to your drawing. Every slab is photographed before you confirm, cut install-ready, and shipped in steel-frame or heavy wooden crates with foam corner protection — with cargo insurance on every stone order.

What Is a Granite Benchtop Package?

Granite, travertine and limestone run on the same 20–30 mm worktop line as the marble, with the same slab selection and the same edge profiles. The difference is the face: granite reads dense and speckled, travertine warm and veined, limestone soft and matte.

Materials and Finishes for Granite Benchtops

The granite families we cut most: absolute black for the high-contrast kitchen, the brown and grey families for a busy worktop that hides chips, and the beige families for warm schemes. Travertine and limestone carry the matte, textured end of the line.

The finish is the decision: polished is the granite default, honed gives the matte face, leathered adds the texture. Most requested granite benchtop schemes:

Where Granite Lands in a Villa

Six decisions are made at the drawing stage and are expensive to change after the slab is cut:

Slab selection first

Each slab is photographed and filmed before any cut, and you confirm the exact stone. Granite varies more between slabs than the engineered lines, so the selection step is where the scheme is actually decided.

Tone matching across rooms

Where the kitchen and the island take different slabs, we match the tone on the photo before cutting, so the two pieces read as one run. The matched set is confirmed together, not piece by piece.

Thickness by application

Benchtops run 20–30 mm depending on the use, stated per piece on the drawing. The same line covers the outdoor kitchen, where the stone’s weather resistance is the point.

Edge profile

Polished, eased, bullnose or flap — cut to the drawing and finished before packing. On granite the eased edge is the most specified, because it softens the stone without a polished lip.

Template and cut-to-size

The benchtop comes cut to the template, install-ready, with the sink and hob apertures marked on the drawing. Granite takes the cut clean when the template is right.

Packing and insurance

Stone ships in steel-frame or heavy wooden crates with foam corner protection, and cargo insurance is available on every stone order. Each piece is numbered to the cut list.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does granite vary between slabs?

Yes — more than the engineered lines. Each slab is photographed and filmed and confirmed by you before cutting, so the exact stone on your benchtop is the one you approved.

Is granite heat resistant?

Granite is the hardest of our natural worktop lines and takes hot pans directly. It is the default recommendation for busy everyday kitchens.

Does granite need sealing?

The natural stone lines are sealed before packing. The sealed surface is wipe-clean, and the sealing specification is on the drawing so the on-site team maintains it correctly.

Can granite go in an outdoor kitchen?

Yes. The same 20–30 mm line covers the outdoor kitchen, where the stone’s weather resistance is the main reason it is specified.

How is the benchtop shipped?

In steel-frame or heavy wooden crates with foam corner protection, cargo insurance available on every stone order, each piece numbered to the cut list.

How long does cut-to-size add?

Cut-to-size worktops typically add 15–25 days on top of slab preparation, because each piece is cut, edged and checked individually.
