ENGINEERED WOOD FLOORING

Engineered Wood Flooring for Villas — Oak and Walnut, 14–15mm

The wood line is where most villa bedrooms, studies and living rooms end up. We build engineered boards on 14–15mm multi-ply cores with solid oak or walnut wear layers, UV-coated, in the two tone families our villa projects actually specify — Oak Natural and Walnut Dark. The boards are sized for the humidity swings overseas homes really see, not for showroom conditions.

Wood Floors Drawn to Your Room Sizes

Quantities come from your floor plan. We calculate per-room areas, add the 5–8% waste allowance, and return a box schedule with weights for the freight quotation. The wood floors in our US and Fiji villa projects left the same Foshan packing line that will serve yours — palletised, shrink-wrapped, labelled by room.

Materials We Use on the Wood Line

The wear layer is real sawn oak or walnut, not a printed sheet — the grain, knot pattern and tone shift between boards is the point. The core is a cross-laid multi-ply stack that holds flat through climate change: a quiet floor, not one that ticks in the afternoon.

The UV coat is matte, applied in a fixed number of passes, so bedroom and study surfaces match, batch after batch. Colour is controlled per batch and the batch number goes on the pallet label, so a replacement box matches what is already installed.

How an Engineered Board Is Built

The eight parts we specify on the drawing, in the order they leave the workshop:

Wear layer

Solid oak or walnut, thickness set on the drawing, UV-coated matte.

Multi-ply core

Cross-laid stack that keeps the board flat through humidity change.

Tongue and groove

Edges milled so plank to plank sits tight without visible gaps.

UV coat

Fixed number of matte passes; the batch number is recorded.

Tone family

Oak Natural or Walnut Dark, matched across all rooms of the house.

Per-room quantities

Areas from your plan plus the 5–8% waste allowance, in box counts.

Pallet packing

Shrink-wrapped on a wooden base, room number on the side of the pallet.

Installation note

The room label and the box schedule travel with the pallet, so the local team installs room by room.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is engineered wood suitable for bedrooms in a humid climate?

Yes — the multi-ply core is built for the humidity swings overseas homes actually see, and the boards are sized on the drawing for that. The wear layer is solid oak or walnut under a UV coat, so the surface holds its finish.

Can you match the oak or walnut tone across all rooms?

Colour is controlled per batch and the batch number is written on the pallet label. All rooms of one house are scheduled from matching batches, and a later order can be matched to what is already installed.

How do you calculate the quantity I need?

Send your floor plan and room sizes. We calculate per-room areas, add the 5–8% waste allowance, and return box counts with weights for the freight quotation.

Can I mix real wood floors with wood-look tile?

Yes — it is a common villa pattern: engineered wood in bedrooms and studies, wood-look porcelain in the kitchen and wet zones. Both lines carry the Oak Natural tone, so the grain family reads continuous.

Is 14–15mm enough thickness for a villa floor?

That is the standard range we specify on villa drawings — 14–15mm total with a solid wear layer. It is the same specification used on our US and Fiji projects.

How are the boards packed for sea shipping?

Palletised on wooden bases, shrink-wrapped, with the room number on the side of the pallet. Every box is counted against the schedule before the container closes, and we photograph the packing.
