SLIDING & POCKET DOOR SYSTEMS

Sliding and Pocket Door Systems for Villas

A sliding or pocket door system is how a villa opens a big space without a swinging leaf: the kitchen opening, the terrace line, the bedroom-to-bath connection. At George Villa our Foshan factory produces sliding door systems for new-build villas — sliding sets on a top-hung track, pocket sets that disappear into the wall, and full-width terrace sliders — with the track, the hardware and the door leaf drawn as one system to your opening, so the door glides on day one and the reveal stays clean.

What Is a Sliding Door System Package?

Because the system is drawn from your floor plan, the track position, the wall cavity for a pocket set, the leaf width and the hardware all resolve on paper before production. Send your opening drawings or a door schedule, and we return production drawings with leaf, track and hardware options plus a landed quotation within 24 hours.

Materials and Finishes for Sliding Systems

A sliding system is specified as a system, not a door: top-hung stainless track rated to the leaf weight, rollers and floor guide sized to match, the leaf — flush, wood or glass — in the villa’s line. The track is the part most often specified wrong — it hides in the ceiling or frame, so we size it to leaf weight and cycle count.

For terrace lines the leaf can be glass — laminated or low-iron — with frame and hardware matched to the villa’s finish. The six finishes below are the most specified for sliding and pocket sets; any approved leaf surface, glass or hardware finish can match.

Where Sliding Doors Sits in a New-Build Villa

Eight decisions are made at the drawing stage and are expensive to change once the ceiling and the wall are closed:

Track position in the ceiling

The track is detailed into the ceiling or frame line on your drawing, sized to the leaf weight and the cycle count. This is the part most often specified late — and it is fixed before the ceiling closes.

Pocket cavity depth

A pocket set is detailed to the wall cavity depth on your plan; where the cavity is short, we change the set or the leaf, and it is changed on the drawing, not on site.

Opening width and leaf count

The opening sets the leaf count and the overlap. We check the width on your plan so the opening closes fully and the leaf does not bind on the guide.

Terrace line and seal

Where the slider is the terrace line, the leaf takes the weather specification — laminated glass, the bottom seal and the gaskets — and the hardware is rated for the wind line.

Hardware in one finish

The rollers, the floor guide and the handles are one finish line across the villa’s sliding sets, so the hardware reads as designed, not assembled.

Floor guide versus free-hung

We detail whether the leaf runs on a floor guide or free-hung with a magnetic track, against the floor finish and the threshold on your drawing.

Leaf finish to the room

The leaf takes the villa’s door line — flush, wood or glass — so the sliding set matches the swinging doors in the same room and the finish stays continuous.

Numbered set delivery

Each system ships as one numbered set — track, hardware, leaf — in the villa’s container sequence, so the builder fits the track and the leaf in the same visit.

Sliding vs Pocket vs Terrace Slider

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the lead time for sliding door systems?

Typically 15–30 days from drawing and sample approval. The track, leaf and hardware are produced as one numbered set and ship in the villa’s coordinated sequence.

How wide can a terrace slider opening be?

Full-width terrace runs up to 6 m per run as the standard line, with the leaf count and overlap set on the drawing to your opening. Larger spans are detailed with a centre post or a multi-leaf set.

Do the doors glide quietly?

The system is cycle-tested at the factory on its own track and hardware, sized to the leaf weight, so the glide is set before it leaves the factory rather than adjusted on site.

Can the sliding leaf be glass?

Yes — laminated or low-iron glass leaves for terrace and light-through openings, with the frame and hardware matched to the villa’s finish line.

What wall does a pocket door need?

A wall cavity deep enough for the sliding pocket, detailed on your drawing. Where the cavity is short, we change the set or the leaf on the drawing, not on site.

Is there a minimum order for sliding systems?

There is no set MOQ — we produce one villa at a time. The same drawings repeat for twin villas or townhouse projects at a reduced unit cost.
