MARBLE WORKTOPS

Marble Kitchen Worktops And Slabs

A marble worktop is the stone face of the house: the kitchen island, the vanity and the feature wall all read through it. At George Villa we cut-to-size worktops and slabs from natural marble in our Foshan base — Carrara, Calacatta and the green families, in 20–30 mm thickness, with polished, eased, bullnose or flap edges to your drawing. Every slab is photographed and filmed before you confirm, cut install-ready, and shipped in steel-frame or heavy wooden crates with foam corner protection, with cargo insurance on every stone order.

What Is a Marble Worktop Package?

Natural marble is offered in 3 mm, 6 mm and 12 mm slabs for panels and cladding, and 20–30 mm for worktops, depending on application. Each slab is unique — we match the book-matched pairs and the vein flow on your drawing before any cutting starts.

Materials and Finishes for Marble Worktops

The marble families we cut most: white Carrara for the classic look, Calacatta for the bold contrast veins, and the green families for a statement island. Polished is the default finish; honed gives a soft matte face; leathered adds the texture that hides water marks.

Granite, travertine and limestone run on the same 20–30 mm worktop line, and sintered stone covers the marble-look budgets. Most requested marble worktop schemes:

Where Marble Lands in a Villa

Six decisions are made at the drawing stage and are expensive to change after the slab is cut:

Slab selection first

Each slab is photographed and filmed and sent for confirmation before any cut. A marble worktop is a one-shot material — the slab you approve is the slab you get, so the selection step is not optional.

Vein flow and book-matching

For the island and the matching vanity we book-match the slabs so the vein pattern mirrors across the pair. The layout is drawn on the slab photo and approved before cutting.

Thickness by application

Worktops run 20–30 mm depending on the use; the 3 mm, 6 mm and 12 mm slabs cover the panel and cladding lines. The drawing states the thickness per piece, not per project.

Edge profile

Polished, eased, bullnose or flap — the edge is cut to the drawing, because an edge profile cannot be changed once the stone is installed. We finish the profile before packing, not on site.

Template and cut-to-size

The worktop comes cut to the template, install-ready, with the sink cut-out and the hob aperture marked on the drawing. A template from the site or from the kitchen cabinets both work.

Packing and insurance

Stone ships in steel-frame or heavy wooden crates with foam corner protection, and cargo insurance is available on every stone order. Marble is the heaviest line we ship — the packing is rated to it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I see the exact slab before you cut it?

Yes. Every slab is photographed and filmed and sent to you for confirmation before cutting starts. The slab you approve is the one that goes on your worktop.

What thickness do you cut for worktops?

Worktops run 20–30 mm depending on the application, stated per piece on the drawing. The thinner 3 mm, 6 mm and 12 mm slabs cover the panel and cladding lines.

What edge profiles can the marble take?

Polished, eased, bullnose or flap, cut to your drawing. The edge profile is finished before packing, because it cannot be changed once the stone is installed.

How is the marble packed for shipping?

In steel-frame or heavy wooden crates with foam corner protection. Cargo insurance is available on every stone order, and each piece is numbered to the cut list.

How long does cut-to-size add to the lead time?

Cut-to-size worktops typically add 15–25 days on top of slab preparation, because each piece is cut, edged and checked individually.

Can the island and the vanity be matched?

Yes. We book-match the slabs so the vein pattern mirrors across the pair, and the layout is approved on the slab photo before cutting.
