Freestanding Bathtubs for Villas
A freestanding bathtub is the piece of the bathroom that is most visible and least forgiving: it stands in the middle of the room, and its floor drain, its overflow and its tap deck position are all fixed by the slab. In a new-build villa the tub is therefore specified at the drawing stage — the floor drain lands under the tub’s centre of weight before the screed is poured, the wall chase for a deck-mounted tap is built with the wall, and the tile field is set around the finished footprint. Ordered with the bathroom package, every one of those points is on the drawing from day one.
What Is a Freestanding Bathtub Package?
We produce freestanding and built-in tubs in our Foshan factory in solid surface, cast iron with enamel, acrylic and stone resin — from the compact 1400 mm guest tub to the 1800 mm+ master statement, in your finish and tap configuration. The tub lands with the vanity, shower glass and faucet set in one bathroom package, from the same production window.

Tub Materials for Villa Master Baths
The material decides three things: feel in the hand, heat retention, and what the floor must carry. Solid surface is the all-rounder — repairable, warm, any finish. Cast iron with enamel is the heavy, heat-retaining classic. Acrylic is the light option; stone resin carries the stone look into the tub itself.
Every tub is produced with its overflow at the position your drawing requires, and with the load figure — empty and full — documented for your structural engineer. Popular tub finishes in recent villa projects:

Tub Placement in a New-Build Villa
Four decisions are made before the slab — and cannot move after it:
Floor drain position
The drain lands under the tub’s centre of weight, marked on the slab drawing before the screed is poured. This is the single most expensive point to get wrong, and the one the bathroom package solves first.
Tap configuration
A freestanding floor column, a deck-mounted set or a wall-hung fixture — each needs its chase or its floor penetration on the drawing. We match it to the faucet set finish at production.
Material vs floor loading
Cast iron full of water is the heaviest case — we document the empty and full weight per tub so your structural engineer checks the slab once, correctly.
Heat and feel
Cast iron holds the longest, solid surface is warm and repairable, acrylic is light, stone resin brings the stone look. The choice is a comfort decision as much as a visual one.
Overflow and depth
Standard bathing depth is 400–500 mm interior; the overflow sits at the height that keeps a full bath contained, confirmed from your drawing.
Finish continuity
The tub finish can carry the bathroom colour scheme — gloss white against stone-look tile, or matte black against oak. We produce the same finish on the basin and the tub where you want one material story.
Access and clearance
The finished footprint plus clearance is drawn against the tile field, so the grout line and the tub edge meet exactly as planned — no gap sealed with caulk.
Packing the tub
A tub never shares a crate. It ships foam-wrapped in a dedicated reinforced crate with its tap deck hardware, photographed before the container closes.

Solid Surface vs Cast Iron vs Acrylic
The three villa defaults — matched to the master bath, the guest bath and the floor structure.
| Solid surface | Cast iron enamel | Acrylic | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Heat retention | Good | Excellent — the longest | Good with insulation base |
| Weight | Medium | Heavy — full load documented | Light — where floor loading is set |
| Repair | Scratches out, re-finishable | Enamel is permanent | Gel-coat, less repairable |
| Best for | Master baths, any finish | Statement master baths | Guest baths and upper floors |

Frequently Asked Questions
How heavy is a freestanding tub — will my floor take it?
It depends on material and size: acrylic is the light option, cast iron the heaviest. We document the empty and full load per tub on the drawing, so your structural engineer checks the slab once — and correctly — before the screed is poured.
Can the drain position be moved after I order?
Not after the screed — which is why the drain is confirmed on the drawing with the bathroom package, before the slab. The tub is produced to the drawing, and the drawing is what your contractor pours against.
What finishes do tubs come in?
Gloss white is the default; grey, black and custom RAL finishes are produced on request. Solid surface and stone resin give the widest finish range, and the tub can carry the same finish as the basin for one material story.
Will a tub survive shipping?
Each tub ships foam-wrapped in a dedicated reinforced crate — it never shares a crate with stone or steel — and is photographed before the container closes. Transit claims settle against that photo record.
Can you match the tap to the tub?
Yes — the floor column, deck-mounted or wall-hung tap deck is produced with the tub and matches the finish of your faucet set, so the whole bathroom reads as one scheme.
What is the lead time?
Standard tubs take 20–30 days from drawing approval, on the same production window as the rest of your bathroom package.
